Alex Cobian Ibarra is a 2D animator and artist who is a recent graduate of the Creative Media Institute of New Mexico State University, with a Bacherlor's in Animation and Visual Effects. Having grown up bouncing between New Mexico and Texas due to familial difficulty, they connected with art and storytelling via comics, cartoons, anime, and games. These are still things they enjoy to this day. They thought themselves how to draw through learning from the artists they grew up reading and watching. Despite different living situations throughout their life, Alex has currently been in Las Cruces, New Mexico, attending local Doña Ana Community College where They got an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design, which a focus on illustration. Then they transferred to New Mexico State University to learn animation and improve their skills. While starting as a traditional artist, loving watercolors and markers, Alex shifted more into digital art as they keep growing. They always want to add to their skillset, and they graduated in December 2025. They have explored avenues of new ways to look into the world and how they can influence the art they create. Through their experience as an artist, they have sold their art in conventions, have storyboarded in fellow student films, and have even directed, and animated, their own short films. Alex is always pushing forward into their future as a lover of creation.
